What a beautiful day for the 1st of our summer races! We had a great turn out of 12 boats on a quintessential Southern California day! Whitall and I successfully set our “pin” (my trusty blue fender) at about 11am and anchored nearby to create our start line. I ended up having to vigilantly protect my beautiful fender as multiple cruising boats circled it like sharks and thought was lost at sea and up for grabs!!! All kidding aside, we had a beautiful morning made even more glorious by a procession of our PSSA racers and their beautiful vessels. They passed us one by one starting with Pulling Strings, and ending with Distraxion, and set out like ducks in a row for King Harbor.
Once the boats started, we weighed anchor and chased them down. The breeze came up nicely and it was a sight to see them all barreling towards us as we headed South. It seemed that there was a good battle going on out there! We tacked back North and got to sail back with them to the finish at the MDR break wall.
A Little Video of Distraxion at the start!
