Please Join us for our next meeting where our speaker will be Brian Boschma from the San Francisco Singlehanded Sailing Society.  Brian is not only extremely knowledgable and accomplished in the world of singlehanded racing, but he is a wonderful guy to boot!. His sailing resume is way to long to post here, but he has accomplished a lot, including the Singlehanded Transpac once and the Pacific Cup 4 times. He is currently planning and running that historic race for the third time. He will speak to us about autopilots: basic types, common failures, proper set up, sail trim and power consumption vs sailing conditions, and current and past autopilot generations and low cost autopilot options. He is the designer and founder of Pelagic Autopilots. Pelagic Autopilots’ goal is to enable vessels to operate using little power, have redundant solutions for electronic autopilots, and take full advantage of their existing steering systems. Pelagic has been tested in races and voyages around the globe.
